Breast Cancer Risk in Young Women

If you were diagnosed with breast cancer when you were 40 years of age or younger, Dr. Susan Love and the Army of Women need your help with a clinical research study!

The purpose of the Breast Cancer Risk in Young Women study is to study the genetic factors that may play a role in the development of breast cancer in younger women.  The study is recruiting 5,000 women who were diagnosed with invasive Stage I-IV breast cancer when they were 40 years old or younger regardless of your current age.

After joining the Breast Cancer Risk in Young Women Study, participants are asked to submit a blood sample that can be drawn in their doctor’s office.  The sample is shipped directly to the research laboratory.  A brief personal and family medical history form is filled out and sent with the blood sample.

The kit, shipping materials and everything is provided to you and your doctor at no cost and patients do not have to ship or handle their blood samples.  This is a great way to help researchers understand how breast cancer develops in younger women.
